This was our last meal in Phoenix. Fez is prided as one of the top burgers in town so we decided to give it a try. The food is standard American cuisine with a Mediterranean twist.
1. fez burger, 1/2 lb grilled angus burger with spicy honey molasses bbq, cinnamon pears, feta, lemon garlic aioli, crispy onions, & cilantro on ciabatta with a side of cinnamon dusted sweet potato fries
The patty was a bit dry and overcooked. The ciabatta was a nice touch. Soft and doughy, it was the best part of the burger. The sauce tasted of a standard bbq and was the boldest component of the dish. Crispy onions added a nice textural difference but didn't contribute much in terms of flavor. Sweet potato fries would have done well to dust off its cinnamon companion. The dipping sauce of, what tasted of pureed pears and honey mustard, was a hit.

2. fez kisra, flat herb kisra with grilled chicken, spicy honey molasses bbq, red onions, spiced pears, cilantro & manchego cheese
"kisra", "pizza", a rose by any other name is still a rose. Thought this was somewhat reminiscent of the chicken bbq pizza at CPK plus some sliced, canned pears. The sauce was the same as the one used in the burger with an additional hint of spice. This wouldn't be on top of the list of things to order again.
The food is relatively inexpensive. The atmosphere is fun with upbeat music throughout the restaurant. It'd be a nice place for happy hour or a group birthday party. Otherwise, it's not really worth returning to.
