Why are all the great places to eat in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the West Side? So far away! We like good food. And if we don't have to drive too far to get it, even better. As a result, we're always looking for places to eat around downtown and Pasadena. So when we heard good things about Quadrupel and it was located a short commute to Old Town, we had to go check it out.

water

lobster
1. lobster bisque - crawfish salad and garlic crouton - Wasn't very hot when it came out. Wasn't very tasty either. Boo...

boen marrow
2. roasted bone marrow - parsley and radicchio salad, crostinis, pancetta vinaigrette - Can't go wrong with bone marrow. Only negative was that there were only a couple spoonfulls of it.

teapot
Pretty!

mussels
3. steamed mussels in lobster sauce - Again, served luke warm. But I thought the flavors were very nice. The mussels were served in the same sauce as the bisque we had earlier. However, this version was a bit tastier when paired with the mussels. The flesh was very sweet. I ate the entire plate.

Hangar steak
4. hangar steak - green beans and bell peppers, mashed potatoes in wrapped in phyllo - Well prepared steak with good flavor. The meat was relatively tender for not being of a high quality cut.

Bread pudding
5. croissant bread pudding, flambeed bananas, bittersweet chocolate sauce - Tasted like it came out of a microwave. Some parts were hot and others barely warm. A big disappointment.

The service wasn't the best. The bus boys were the ones that asked about our meal and our dishes. Our waitress never once inquired about our experience. Quite a disappointment for a place that seemed to have a lot of potential.
