Butterfly Cake Pops
Cake pops have become my new hobby - allowing me to combine my love for baking with the arts & crafts skills I've acquired through the years. Except now, rather than using paints and glitter, I am using coloring gels, chocolates and sprinkles.
For my nieces' second birthday, I decided to make cake pops in their theme of pink, purple and butterflies. I searched high and low for this butterfly plunger that would allow me to stamp a pretty butterfly onto colored fondant for the pops. I also made the switch to Merkens candy melts - they taste so much better that Wiltons and also melt and coat the cake pops alot better too. I like buying the white candy melts and playing with the candy food coloring to get the desired shades of colors.
I have yet to figure out the best way to transport these. For the party, I stuck them into styrofoam, only to have the styrofoam tip over and scatter the cake pops all over my car. Can somone please design an efficient cake pop carrier?
A friend of mine askd me to teach her how to make cake pops for her daughters bday. Her daughters theme was butterflys ! I went to a few stores to find a butterfly cutter but had no luck. So eventually I just did candy melt wings. It was cute but I would have loved to find a plunger like urs, where did u get it ?! I'd appriciate if u helpd, me out. My sisters bday is this weekend & she loves butterflys so I wantd to make her a cake. I'd love to have a plunger to make the decorations !! Thanku !!

ReplyDeleteI transport cake pops deliveries with each pop individually wrapped and then gently stacked in a 8x8x4 cake box (up to 30). If it's a larger order I either use a larger box or large gift bags. I do this even if they want them displayed at the event and then put the display together there. Much much safer for the pops. :) If you're serious about the cake pops I would definitely do a search for KC Bakes and check out their cake pops stands. I rent them to customers but it would also serve your purpose of traveling in the car as well. Good luck!
