The overarching theme of our quest for the best foods has many subplots, one of which includes finding the best ramen. Ray, having tasted the ramen in Japan, is constantly on the lookout for something comparable a little closer to home. When you search the terms "ramen" and "New York", Ippudo is near the top of the results list. Hence, we thought we'd give it a try.

Ippudo shoyu ramen
1. shoyu ramen - a soy sauce based ramen.

Ippudo tonkatsu ramen
2. tonkatsu ramen - pork bone based ramen.

ippudo pork bun
3. pork belly buns - juicy pieces of pork belly snuggled between a soft-pillowy bun. almost the perfect food.

Ippudo - couple

Both ramen were good, but not standouts. The real star of Ippudo were the pork buns. Ray contends that they do not surpass the ones in Taiwan. Overall, a very enjoyable meal.
