Mustards was the first stop on our trip to Napa, having had this restaurant on our radar since Cindy Pawlcyn's appearance on the first season of Top Chef Masters. Had it not been for the show, we would have guessed that this was its sister restaurant. Mustards also came highly recommended from a seasoned foodie couple we met during a Zagat-sponsored dinner at Spago.

mustards
We're sold on any place that apologizes for deliciousness.

garden
The waitress said that most of their veggies comes from their own gardens. This, however, didn't appear like it was enough to feed all the guests.

crab
1. dungeness crab cakes, chipotle aioli, arugula salad, molasses vinaigrette - lots of crab = yummy crab cake. Not too much filler. Slightly tangy aioli. Good stuff.

chops
2. famous mongolian pork chop, sweet & sour red cabbage, housemade mustard - their signature dish. Looked good and tasted good. Paired well with the sweet-mustardy glaze. Mashed potatoes were nice and fluffy and the sour cabbage provided a nice contrasting acidity to the rest of the dish.

rabbit
3. special of the day: sabia's rabbit roulade, garden carrots, fava beans, creamy polenta - this wascaly wabbit dish was wewy delicious. Having been wapped in bacon only helped promote this dish's yumminess. The garden cawwots weh tendua and sweet. And the polenta puavided a nice foundation to bold flawahs of the wabbit.

A good meal all around. It was at this meal as well that we discovered that there's such a thing as gourmet grape juice. Ten times better than Welch's. Although everything was good, nothing really stood out to make us want to come back, especially given so many other delicious options in and around the Napa area.
