Finally! The tomatoes are finally starting to ripen. Only 2 tomatoes have started so far but hopefully all the other ones are not far behind. We had a drastic heat wave (~100 degrees) last week so it definitely took a toll on the poor tomatoes. Most of the flowers withered and dried out without fruiting. Since all of these are indeterminate, meaning they grow all season long, hopefully that means new flowers will come out soon.
Some tomatoes have grown together and fused into one large fruit. I suppose the deformity is what people associate most with heirloom tomatoes. I hope they are safe to eat!
