Groom Cake Pops | Dumb & Dumber Edition

Out of all the cake pop orders I've received to date, this one certainly proved to be the most challenging - Dumb & Dumber Groom Cake Pops. For those that aren't familiar with this movie, there is a part where Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels wear bright orange and baby blue tuxedos complete with ruffled dress shirts. 

For these cake pops, I opted for a bright orange candy coating. The "ruffled shirt" took a while to figure out. A couple of ideas came to mind, including a sweet and sour candy ribbon or white chocolate piping but neither had a clean ruffle look. So after googling "ruffled cake" for inspiration, I settled on using white fondant, rolled thin and cut into a large triangle. I used the small Wilton ball tool to thin out the edges of the triangle and the small molding stick to create the ripple effect.

I was very happy with the results and I hope the bride and groom were too!
